Jesus declared in John 15:7 if you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. Notice the emphasis to asking whatever you wish or prayer is predicated upon abiding in him. Abiding in him deals with relationship better known as being born again (Romans 10:8-13). Listen, on a practical level a husband and wife who refuse to no longer communicate will hinder the marriage union over time because they will no longer have anything in common. The church symbolically is the bride of Christ who is the bridegroom so right relationship between the two must continue so that effective communication can do the same.
